As an abstract artist, there is rarely a defined path that dictates the creation of a painting. Rather, each stroke of color and direction invites the next.
The hand moves the brush, the palette knife or whatever tool is being used, but it is the subconscious mind and spirit that guide the painting into being.
My works are the studied result of the continued exploration and implementation of acrylics and their associated media and techniques. Drawing on the diverse range of textural effects that paint additives offer, the possibilities of innovative discoveries fascinate this artist's creative mind.
During the creation of any artwork, the question always arises.
How will I know when it's done?
Invariably that moment does arrive when the addition of another element, mark, shape or color on the canvas will upset its unique and perfect balance.
That's the moment when you put down your tools and step back.
